Nov. Doc Update

Scans and blood work results are in...  No new problems!  Just keeping a close eye on the swollen nodes with more scans scheduled for the end of January.  Yay!  I am free for the holidays!!  The only surprise was that my blood shows I am POST menopausal!  Doc said two weeks ago that I was too young and it was still too early after treatment to be "post," but sure enough, he was wrong!  Good thing he's a lymphoma doc and not a GYN :)  I have been discouraged from starting hormones and told just to exercise more to deal with my expanding midsection.   I was hoping for a magic pill!

So I guess there's just more waiting, which is fine!  In the meantime I'm going to enjoy the holidays and go to Utah for Christmas!  If my scans come back clear in January we will have all witnessed nothing short of a miracle.  If the scans come back with still-swollen lymph nodes... I will probably get the same advice- watch them closely and scan again 3 months down the road.  With how well I've been feeling the last couple of weeks I'm going to put my money on witnessing a miracle :)

A poll for anyone that wants to give an opinion:
Which haircut is best?  I'm trying to decide what to do with my hair!  To grow, or not to grow...

So what do you think??

  1. Goodness Gracious girl, you are gorgeous however you do your hair. While you visit Cache Valley if you ever go to lunch with a big group I'd love to meet you in person. I'm hoping for a miracle too. Even my little girl prays for you and well, who can resist the prayers of children right?

  2. I like your hair any length, but have become partial to the short version you're wearing now. You make any hair length look great!

  3. Congratulations on the good news! I hope that it continues to stay positive like that! :) About the hair...there are very few people in this world who can pull off a very short hair style and still look as good as you do while sporting one! It's obviously your choice (or maybe your husbands choice?), but if it were mine to make, I would say keep it short. You look great with short hair, and it must be so easy to manage. Why waste time doing your hair when you don't have to? :) Your hair looks awesome at any length though, so don't fret too much.

  4. Okay... Lots of comments here:

1.) A MIRACLE FOR SURE!!! YES - YAAAAAAY!!! AMAZING!!!

2.) I'll be on that workout schedule with you!

3.) I really love you in the pixie cut. But I'm a fan of short hair and don't believe I can pull it off so I always am a fan of people who can! I love all the styles though. And I love YOU girl!

    SUPER GOOD NEWS!!!

  5. You look beautiful no matter what you choose! There are very few woman out there who can rock whatever they choose so, rest assured, you are gorgeous long or short! I am SO happy for you!

I hope you don't think I am crazy but........ My sister and mom have found a supplement called Protandim. This thing is quite interesting. (I may be a tad off on my info, but I think I have the general idea) apparently, our bodies, when they are young, produce their own stuff that kills oxidents in our body. We then hit a certain age and our bodies stop producing this good stuff and the bad stuff starts to take over. The scientist who discovered this stuff calls the bad stuff radicals. (Again, bad with medical mumbo jumbo but just bear with me). These radicals in our bodies are what cause us to kind of fall apart as we get older, get us sicker and can cause and feed things like cancer cells. Protandim makes the stuff we made as children and kills millions of these radicals with each pill. Basically, it kills the oxidation in our bodies.
Kills the environment that cancer cells love to live in.

I know there is SO much I don't know, and I REALLY don't want to be one of those annoying people who think they know all the ins and outs of everybody's life problems BUT, upon learning about this stuff, I immediately thought about you. If there (by some miracle) is a way to help our bodies fight the chemicals and bad hormones that are put into our food and radicals that oxidate our bodies, if there is some way we can help our bodies get back into gear without putting more medications this world has created then I jump on that stuff.

Maybe you have already heard about this and have researched it and found it not right for you and your family, and in that case, I am so sorry to have taken your time! But if you have not heard of this before I would say research it. It won't hurt, it really can only help. It's the kind of thing doctors won't like because it is a more natural way (it's filled with herbs) but I know in my heart it is right for my family and I just wanted to share it with you and yours. Please don't feel like you have to, and I really pray I have not offended you in ANY way. But it's like the Tree of Life story, when you've got something awesome you just want to share it!

I am so happy for you! And I along with many are praying for you! Thanks again for your happy strength!
